Espaldon is leading a monetary relief drive to help purchase sorely needed medicinne and medical equipment to disaster stricken areas in the Philippines. The meeting was held in Malacanang Palace and was set up by Luli Arroyo-Bernas, daughter of President Gloria Macapagal, who chas been spearheading disaster relief efforts at the residence. Arroyo-Bernas called in officials from the Bureau of Customs and the Department of Health to meet Espaldon and discuss how relief supplies could be brought in and moved expeditiously to local hospitals. Health officials pointed out that the government hospital in Marikina was in dire need of help and it was agreed that the supplies being secured by Ayuda Foundation would be directed there. The hospital was submerged by storm waters that completely damaged the basement and first floor, including valuable hospital equipment. Espaldon also discussed the possibility sending a medical mission to northern Luzon.
